Training and Education

The FDSOA offers training programs, workshops, and conferences where firefighters can learn about the latest safety practices & techniques, and EVTs can gain knowledge in the areas of apparatus and equipment. This includes education for the Incident Safety Officer (ISO)during emergency incidents, guidance for your Health Safety Officer (HSO), and training for your fleet mechanics and fleet managers. We offer Pro Board certifications for ISO, HSO, and TIMs, and FDSOA certification in Infection Disease Control Officer and Accident/Injury investigation, in addition to F1-F5 training for EVT commission certifications.

Resource Sharing

The association serves as a hub for sharing best practices, research findings, and resources related to firefighter health and safety. By partnering with various associations and organizations, the FDSOA can pool knowledge and experiences from across the globe.In turn, the FDSOA can assist individual departments by keeping them informed and implementing effective safety measures.

Advocacy and Awareness

The FDSOA advocates for legislation, policies, and regulations prioritizing firefighter health and safety. This includes supporting initiatives that reduce exposure to carcinogens and other hazardous substances, as well as raising awareness about the importance of early detection and prevention of occupational illnesses such as cancer.
