Bringing Safety To The Streets!

Board Member

Christopher Fusaro

My name is Christopher Fusaro. I am a retired member of FDNY and a long time and current member of Huntington Manor Volunteer Fire Department on Long Island, New York. As a member of FDNY I retired out of HazMat Battalion in November of 2002. I have been a certified FDSOA Safety Officer since 2008. I act in that capacity still with Huntington Manor. As a member of FDSOA I have attended annual meetings since 2008 to keep current on all issues. Also, I am currently a Fire Commissioner an elected position with Huntington Manor Fire District and Chairman of the Board acting as a fiduciary of a six plus million-dollar budget. I have been able to keep our department updated and moving forward with safety issues making sure our members have the proper gear to ensure their safety on the fireground.

Should I receive this position in FDSOA with my knowledge in both paid and volunteer departments and my knowledge of safety in the fire service I will work to convey the importance of safety in the fire service and to be committed to getting that word out. Encourage departments to get involved and promote safety and to become a certified member of FDSOA.

The importance of the FDSOA is large and has a great need to be promoted for the health and safety of each member their departments and communities. This is my ambition and commitment to FDSOA the members their departments, families and communities to be bigger and better then before.
