Michael Richardson is a 40-year veteran of the Military and Fire Service. He served for 28 years as a Firefighter, Company Officer, and Chief Officer with FDs in NY, FL, and KY. He most recently served as an LODD Investigator for the NIOSH Fire Fighter Fatality Investigation and Prevention Program. He is an Eastern KY University Fire Science and Loss Prevention & Safety Program graduate. Chief Richardson has been involved with the Fire Service at a national level through, instructing at fire conferences such as FDIC and Fire-Rescue International, authoring articles in publications such as Fire Engineering and Firehouse, and serving on the International Society of Fire Service Instructors and the Center for Firefighter Injury Research & Safety Trends boards. He currently serves on the Fire Department Safety Officers Association board as the Professional Development Advisor. He has also served on the NFPA Electronic Safety Equipment and Fire Service Training Committees.
