This course is an EVT F-3 Fire Pumps and Accessories covering all makes and models of fire pumps and related accessories and components. The theory and operation of the fire pump class includes the classroom portion along with a dynamic hands-on experience to understand the most current standards as described in the current consolidation NFPA 1900 (NFPA 1901), Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus, and current consolidated NFPA 1910 (NFPA 1911, 2017 Edition), Standard for the Inspection, Maintenance, Testing, and Retirement of In-Service Automotive Fire Apparatus. This is an excellent opportunity for the students to learn about different brands and types of fire pumps, how to perform multiple tests, and hands-on training properly. A sound vehicle and maintenance and testing program is vital to government agencies of all sizes. That’s why understanding proper fire pump maintenance and testing is so important.

The course discusses the EVT test-taking process so that even testing may be understood as an educational experience. The goal is not only to prepare the student, but also to help them develop a mindset that allows them to perform better as technicians in servicing and repairing emergency vehicles.

This course applies to drivers/operators, engineers, training officers, spec writers, and apparatus committee members.
