Scott Young started his career in the fire service with an all-volunteer department
outside of San Antonio, TX in 1990. He has served numerous departments in the
state of Texas. He most recently served 11 years as a Fire Captain for the City of
Stockdale, TX. He currently holds certifications through Texas Commission of Fire
Protection, and the State Fireman’s and Fire Marshal’s Association.
Scott has served as a professional Emergency Vehicle Technician since 2000, and
is currently certified as a Master EVT and Master Medium/Heavy Duty truck
technician through ASE. His duties have included repair and maintenance as well
as full manufacturing of fire service and law enforcement vehicles. Scott has
served as a subject matter expert for a variety of training institutions including
TEEX.
Currently Scott is employed by Safe Industries as a General Manager. His duties
include managing the San Antonio shop and field operations. He is also heavily
involved in developing apparatus specifications for new fire apparatus builds, and
supporting the repair and maintenance operations in the greater Texas area. He is
also a member of the Safe Emergency Response Group, providing emergency
response to all-hazards events around the nation.
